ServPrivacy operates offshore infrastructure outside the United States. This page explains how we handle copyright complaints and takedown requests.
We are not a US service provider
Our servers are located in the jurisdictions listed on our Locations page, none of which are the United States. The US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) does not apply to infrastructure outside US jurisdiction, and foreign takedown notices carry no automatic legal force where your server is hosted. We do not process speculative or automated DMCA notices.
What we will act on
We investigate and act on reports of content that is illegal in the jurisdiction where the server is hosted, including child sexual abuse material, fraud, phishing, malware distribution and content that endangers our network or third parties. Such material is removed and the responsible account terminated.
Reporting genuinely illegal content
To report illegal content, use our contact form with the URL/IP, a description of the unlawful material, and the specific law it violates. Valid, specific reports of illegal activity are prioritised. Vague or automated copyright form-letters will not be actioned.
Valid legal process
We comply with valid, binding legal orders issued by a court of competent jurisdiction in the country where the relevant server is located.
