Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated June 5, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy keeps our network clean, our other customers safe, and your service stable. It applies to everyone using ServPrivacy infrastructure.

ServPrivacy is a privacy host, not a haven for harm. We are resilient to surveillance overreach and foreign takedown notices — but we have firm, non-negotiable lines.

Encouraged & welcome

  • Privacy and anonymity tools — VPNs, Tor (including relays where the location permits), proxies and mix networks.
  • Lawful but controversial speech, journalism, research, archives, forums and mirrors.
  • Content targeted by foreign DMCA or speculative takedown notices, where lawful in the host jurisdiction.
  • Cryptocurrency nodes, bots, trading systems and self-hosted applications.
  • Adult content that is legal and consensual.

Strictly prohibited

These are banned everywhere, on every plan, without exception:
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content sexualising minors.
  • Fraud, phishing, carding, identity theft and financial scams.
  • Spam and unsolicited bulk email (including snowshoe and list-washing).
  • Malware, ransomware, botnet command-and-control and exploit distribution.
  • Active attacks against third parties — DoS/DDoS, port scanning, brute-forcing, intrusion.
  • Terrorism, incitement to violence, and human trafficking.
  • Anything illegal in the jurisdiction where the server is hosted, or that endangers our network or other customers.

Enforcement

We investigate credible reports. Depending on severity we may request remediation, suspend, or immediately terminate a service. Severe violations (e.g. CSAM) result in immediate termination and, where legally required, reporting to the appropriate authorities. Report abuse through our contact form.
